Most people assume a private chef is out of reach. The reality is that for many Austin households, it costs less than you'd think — and saves far more time than you'd expect.
What Does Private Chef Pricing in Austin Actually Look Like?
EatsByATX our pricing is based on how many menu items you want each session. Every menu item is 4 servings. Here's the breakdown:
- 3 menu items (12 servings): $350 per session
- 4 menu items (16 servings): $440 per session
- Snack add-on: $55 per snack
Session prices cover the chef's time, menu planning, in-home cooking, and kitchen cleanup. Every price includes all fees — the price you see is the price you pay. Groceries are billed separately at cost, based on actual receipts.
What's Included in Every Booking
When EatsByATX comes to your home, you're not just paying for food. You're paying for a fully managed kitchen experience. Before your session, your chef works with you to build a menu around your preferences, dietary needs, and what's actually in season. On the day of service, they arrive with everything needed, cook in your kitchen, package and label meals if it's a prep session, and leave your kitchen cleaner than they found it.
There's no tipping expected and no wondering what comes next. Everything is communicated clearly before your first booking.
How Booking and Payment Work
Booking is straightforward. You reach out through the contact form, share a bit about your household and goals, and your chef follows up within 24 hours to schedule a quick call. From there, your first session gets on the calendar.
Every client is set up with a secure card on file. The session fee is invoiced the day before your cook day, and groceries are invoiced the day of the session based on actual receipts. Both are billed separately so you always know exactly what you're paying for.
Payments are processed automatically on those invoice dates, so most regular clients rarely think about it again.
Cancellation Policy
Life happens. If you need to skip or pause a session, EatsByATX asks for at least 7 days notice. Cancellations made with less than 7 days notice are subject to a $150 cancellation fee.
This policy exists to respect the chef's time and planning — not to penalize clients. In practice, rescheduling with adequate notice is always accommodated without any friction.
